Students must have completed at least 2 years of Japanese language study or the equivalent by the inception of the award period.

Preference will be given to students applying for specialized advanced language workshops.

The program’s guiding mission is to increase awareness of the importance of diversity in diplomacy and other international fields and to encourage and sustain the careers of professionals from minority backgrounds in foreign affairs.

The 4-week program will take place in May and June of a given year.
