Pubmed Research Papers-87
is NLM's database covering the fields of medicine, nursing, dentistry, the health care system, and the preclinical sciences.

Pub Med Central (PMC) is a free resource that provides access to millions of peer-reviewed articles in the biomedical and life sciences field, mainly from the MEDLINE database.

The archive is maintained by the US National Library of Medicine at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and allows authors and publishers to store and cross-reference information from several sources using a common format within a single platform.

The related articles are then listed in order of "relatedness".

To create these lists of related articles, Pub Med compares words from the title and abstract of each citation, as well as the Me SH headings assigned, using a powerful word-weighted algorithm.

NIH-funded articles should be submitted to PMC immediately after being accepted by a journal; the manuscripts are made publicly available within 12 months of publication.

The submission process is quite easy and fast: For methods A and B: Many journals have agreements to deposit articles in PMC, some of them with full participation, others offering selective deposit, and others with an NIH portfolio agreement, which means that they only deposit NIH-funded articles.

On the other side, we will lose those articles more recently incorporated into the database to which descriptors have not yet been assigned.

Therefore, to guarantee an exhaustive search, we must use a combination of controlled language headings and free text terms.

The United States National Library of Medicine (NLM) at the National Institutes of Health maintains the database as part of the Entrez system of information retrieval.

From 1971 to 1997, MEDLINE online access to the MEDLARS Online computerized database primarily had been through institutional facilities, such as university libraries.
