Scholars have hailed Amenábar as the ultimate representative of a new breed of Spanish filmmaker who understands the necessarily commercial co-ordinates of the film market.
Amenabar's directorial debut, Tesis, has a very distinctive Hitchcokian flavor.

Detail can be decent at times, but there are traces of light denoising corrections that have clearly affected image depth (see screencapture #6).
Some sharpening adjustments have been applied as well, and as a result parts of the film could look rather harsh (see screencaptures #13 and 15). Overall image stability is excellent -- there are no transition issues or general stability issues to report in this review. In areas of the film where light is restricted artifacts are occasionally noticeable, but even during the daylight footage it isn't difficult to see that there is room for improvement.
